The dedicated work of a few individuals, veterinarians and biologists, at the Platanitos Sea Turtle Camp has profoundly improved the sea turtle population, and provided new information on their biology and status on many fronts.

Grupo Ecologico de la Costa Verde is the first environmental non-profit civil association of the region with the special interest in the protection of the marine turtle. 

The marine turtle program begins at the onset of the Olive Ridley nesting season, generally around June 1st, and ends around November 15th. To be accepted volunteers must stay with the program for at least two months. Please click here to apply online.


The Northern Mexico Conservation Programメs mission is to promote and coordinate scientific research, ecological restoration, and land management practices that support the ecological integrity of the Mexican Sky Islands, through the establishment of partnerships with Mexican landowners, conservation organizations, Universities and agencies.
